Missions

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. "--Ephesians 2:10

Home Missions
As a young church blessed with new comers to the USA, it compels us to do home missions within our church, helping our member families settled. What we have been doing, in general, are:

  • We help new member families in applying social security, state ID, food stamps, Medicaid etc., in co-operation with charity groups such as the Exodus Refugee and Catholic Charities.
  • We employed a full time worker to help our members find jobs. This ministry involves transportation to and from job locations. We bought two 12-passenger vans for this purpose.
  • Our church members give free driving lessons to new comers, and help in car buying, registering, and in insurance matters.
  • Our Women Fellowship supplies kitchen appliances to new comer families.
  • Our members serve in interpretation service in hospitals, bureau of motor vehicles, courts, etc.

Field Missions
We have been doing a few number of Field Missiond work:

  • We gave sponsorship to students studying in Hong Kong, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
  • We helped financially in the building of a public library in Matupi town in Chin State, Myanmar.
  • We contributed to Cyclone Nargis victims that hit the delta area of Burma.
  • We contributed a little aid to the victims of food scarcity in Chin State.
  • We have been able to give a helping hand to children in frontier areas around the border of India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
  • Our church have been a blessing to those who are too poor to have "Christmas meal."
  • We have been blessed to feed the aged in Halkha town through our Women Fellowship.
  • We contributed in the Halkha-Hmandaw Road Construction. The road, when finished, is supposed to meet most the needs of people in central Chin State.
  • We have been praying for the publication of the translated Rick Warren's book of The Purpose Driven Life, having had a written permission.
